Micro Speckle Stamps

– a high-throughput, high-resolution, low-cost, parallel patterning method in which a stamp surface pattern is replicated onto a material’s surface by mechanical contact.

There are 6 advantages to the stamping procedure, over lithography-based methods, for image correlation:

  1. Reduced requirement for dedicated technical staff and special infrastructure.
  2. Specimens can be patterned in much less time enabling high throughput for gathering statistical data.
  3. Patterns can be applied to complex surface geometries and large surface areas.
  4. High-contrast materials can be used to improve image correlation results.
  5. Identical stamps can be fabricated and serve as a standardized basis for the research community.
  6. Reduced surface preparation requirements.
